OK, hands up. I’m not Irish! I’m a food-loving English girl living in Dublin, but don’t let that put you off ;o) .
I love food. I also love food related ‘stuff ’ and experiences, from recipe books, to cookery courses and even plain old cookware.
I moved to Dublin in 2009, and the idea for DFG developed gradually over my first year. Everything I was experiencing was new to me, and I thought it was a great opportunity to try and capture everything food-related that Dublin has to offer and to share my thoughts, and try and gather the thoughts of other too.
I’m hoping that the pages of this web-page will become filled with restaurant reviews, recipes and any other general food related topics I might come up with. I’m not a chef, and I’m not a journalist. I’m actually an accountant! But, I’m a girl who loves to eat, and to cook. It’s great to get a top tip from someone for a fabulous café that serves the best carrot cake in town, and through DFG I hope I can share some top tips with you, and maybe receive a few along the way too.
DFG is a forward looking project. I’m not going to spend hours vaguely reminiscing about previous experiences I’ve had or try and write reviews of restaurants where I have forgotten what I had to start, and the dessert is now a blur. Where something is relevant though, I’m sure I’ll throw it in anyway, and probably even sometimes when it’s not!
I hope you enjoy reading this website even half as much as I enjoy writing it.
